This chart shows how solar is expected to provide the majority of energy used by the tea factory during the day.

Williamson Tea commissioned Azimuth to develop a 1MW solar installation on its estate in Kericho. The project’s aim is to provide sufficient power to run the factory entirely from solar energy during daylight hours. Williamson view this investment into solar technology as an essential part of their business operations to ensure their sustainability. The installation is expected to produce 1,582,000 kWh of electricity each year – making it the largest installation in East Africa to date.
